Dating someone

When people begin dating in their early years, they are not doing it to fall in love. They are interested in dating so that they can look good to their friends and to develop a reputation as a great boyfriend. The romance is not there too much, but the reputation will carry a lot of weight in the boys locker room.

As people age, they begin to look at the prospect of spending the rest of their adult life alone and do not find that prospect inviting at all. They start to consider dating on a whole different plane. They take a hard look at themselves and realize that although they are middle aged, they could still find great enjoyment in dating.

Dating when you are an older adult requires very little coordination. The gentlemen friends already know what you are like, because they are part of the group that you always hang out with. Now you are looking at them in a new light and are considering dating one of them, which would change his status to a gentleman caller.

There is nothing wrong with dating an old friend. That is one of the better choices that a person could make. The bumps have already been ironed out long ago during the course of your friendship and both of you are comfortable with each other. Dating should not change that one bit, and it might make it even better.

Now along with the friendship, the prospect of dating each other had added excitement into each others life. The familiarity that each of you feel for each other now has a chance to become warmer and quite possibly intimate. That is when you know that dating one of your friends is a good decision.

The very thought that at your age you would be considering dating someone and having an intimate relationship opens doors that have not been opened in quite a while. This invigorating thought pattern seems to have caused you to get a new spring in your step, and thinking about dating has caused you to start to whistle to yourself once in a while.

As you continue to think about dating your friend, you realize that it is not a bad idea at all, and you calmly pick up the phone and invite the man to dinner. As usual, his comical attitude jokingly asked, “Hey are we going to be dating, or are we just going to be good friends?” You pause for a second and smile to yourself and say out loud, “Yes, I think I would prefer dating for a change of pace, is that fine with you?”
