Dating isn’t easy because oftentimes we go on dates with people we don’t know or are mere acquaintances with. Since we don’t know the people we date how we act and look are very important in the date being successful. Often people get very nervous before dates because they don’t know what they should do to make a good impression. Here are some great tips about what not to do on a date:
- Make sure you don’t smell bad and put on some cologne or perfume before you go on a date. It should have a nice, light fragrance and not be too strong smelling. You don’t want your date to smell heavy, reeking cologne or perfume.
- Deciding on who is going to pay for dinner or if you’re going to split the bill can end up in a power play. If the guy or girl you’re with wants to pay for dinner it’s best to let them pay for it and not argue about it. You don’t want them to assume that you think that they can’t pay for dinner. However, after you two go on a couple of dates both of you should split the bill.
- Conversation is very important when out on a date with someone. Make sure to pay attention to everything your date says and not to change the topic abruptly to something you want to talk about.
- Domineering a conversation is very unattractive as well as annoying. It is also important not to offend your date or discuss controversial topics, such as religion or politics.
- Try not to stare too long at your date’s assets. It can lead to awkward silences and to your date becoming uncomfortable. If you must look try not to be conspicuous about it. You can glance at what they have to offer and look back up at their face. That way you let them know you’re attracted to them without being rude or creepy about it.
- Don’t assume that you know the person you are dating very well. Most of the time we go on dates with people we don’t know very well. Never order for someone you’re on a date on or tell them what they should think or feel. For example, if that handsome, dark guy you’re on date with doesn’t want to be in a serious relationship, don’t try to persuade him he does.
