Geeks can be the sweetest and most loving people you will ever date. However, you may find their various geeky interests do not coincide with any of yours, their frequent computer talk hard to understand, or that it is hard to pry them away from the computer. If you have ever never dated a geek before this can be quite overwhelming. Never fear though because here are some tips on how to date a geek!
- Try to email him things you want him to do, such as if you want him to take out the garbage on Friday or take you out to dinner tomorrow night. He will remember to do thing more often if you tell him to do it in an email instead of telling him to do it a thousand times.
- It’s good to pry your geek away from the computer from time to time, especially if he’s been on it for hours and hours. You can distract him by dressing in some sexy lingerie or eating his favorite food in front of him. These things are sure to pique his interest and give you his undivided attention.
- When you and your geek travel try to plan them around geek conventions, such as Comic-Con or E3. While he is at a geeky convention you can sightsee so that you can do things you both enjoy. However, you should be sure to go out on at least a few romantic dinners and do some activities together.
- It’s important that you get to know some of his friends and try to hang out with once in awhile. You never know! They could be fun people to hang out with even though they’re geeks.
- Remember that geeks tend to be very honest and straightforward because, most often, they don’t have a way with words. Don’t be offended when he is completely honest with you and appreciate the fact that he won’t ever play mind games with you. He may hurt your feelings from time to time but always remember that he doesn’t mean to offend you because he doesn’t know any other way to express himself.
- Buy gadgets for him once in awhile. He will appreciate it and be happy that you know what to buy for him.
- Tell your geek that you are proud to be his girlfriend and what you like about his personality. Geeks are the people that are made fun of most in our society. He will appreciate the admiration and pride you feel for him.
- Find a hobby that you both enjoy doing together, whether it be cooking or parasailing. It’s a great bonding experience for a couple to do things that they both enjoy together.
- Don’t share any of his computer or gadgets with him. These are usually tender points with your geek and they don’t usually like to share them.
- Appreciate the passion and love your geek feels for you.
